Chasing the Dream
When you have a dream there is no stopping it except the story you tell yourself. If you don’t stay dedicated, if you let those doubts creep in then your dream will disappear leaving you not knowing where to go. But if you stay dedicated to it and re-focus your efforts anytime you lose sight of it that is when you are able to re-ignite the engine and put the peddle to the metal. Having a dream is really important because it gives you Hope, and without hope all seems lost.
What is your dream? If you don’t know then I suggest reading yesterday’s blog post about making a plan. In order to find a dream of your own you have to explore yourself and find what you want most. This doesn’t have to be, be a millionaire at the age of 20. It can be retire by 40, or write a book. Having a dream doesn’t always have to be this ultimate impossible thing, it can be something that seems impossible but is always possible. Also you don’t have to have just one dream, you can have numerous! The purpose of dreams is to keep you running towards the goal.
This isn’t going to be a long entry today because I did a bunch of creative writing stuff earlier today that is based on one of my dreams. Write a book. That is one of my many dreams. I want to write an actual book and today I found my basis for it. After my morning coffee I decided to listen to Mozart because lately I have been listening to him, Chopin and Tchaikovsky and meditated on what I wanted to write about. It was like I was inspired right away and realized that this doesn’t have to be something big or has a lot of chapters, it can be simple and small. That right there got me so pumped and I was able to come up with a basis and breakdown for what I wanted to write about.
See this is how you meet your dreams, with baby steps towards them. I dream about writing a book, but that doesn’t mean I have to do it all in a day, or a week, or even a month. I get to take my time with it and work on it at my own pace. Because the book I’m writing is based on my own practical application of what it means to be present and how to get to the presence now. Through my own experience and knowledge and inspiration I get to create a guide to help others achieve some of the things I live by now. That’s not to say I know everything and won’t but being able to help others understand how to get rid of the headspace by getting into the present that is exciting.
After working on that later in the day I was able to do an emotion code session on someone that was a profound experience for me. Instead of doing it distantly without being on the phone or in communication I had a phone call session. That for me was beyond amazing because I was able to listen, to navigate the emotions better and help this person through it. I was always nervous of doing it over the phone because at times I am not speaking, I am muscle testing, releasing and intuiting what I am getting from the person so I felt nervous of that silence. This was another baby step towards another dream of mine, to coach people and help them through emotions, through trauma, through healing to create a new life for themselves.
That is what it takes to get to your dreams. Baby steps, devotion and a little encouragement along the way. This is always helpful if you have others doing it but if you don’t then it comes from true grit within yourself. It’s like a calm anger that builds up, don’t be mistaken for anger being a bad thing, it can be an amazing force for you to increase motivation. All emotions have energy, it’s how you utilize that energy that determines if it’s positive or not. So find out what your dream or dreams are then find ways to work towards them. It can be even 15 minutes a day starting out just working on them, then it builds up to 30 and soon you find yourself working on it for a few hours a day. It’s just little bits by little bits. I know looking at that overall big dream is scary and not knowing how to get there can be overwhelming but it doesn’t have to be done right now, it can take years or even decades to achieve. It just comes down to how committed you are willing to be to put the work in.
Today was a 7.
