Time off

As you know I took the past couple days off. I needed some time t decompress and really sort out a bunch of things. I was beginning to feel so overwhelmed with everything going on that I needed to pull back for myself. When you load up your plate take a second and really look at it. Are your eyes just bigger than your stomach? Or is it actually plausible for you to finish everything on your plate?

The time is coming where a lot of my commitments are ending. It’s a bittersweet ending to them but I am so glad to start having more time for myself again. I only have 2 weeks left of school, and this Sunday is my last day at the cafe. I am sad about the cafe because I was so grateful for it, but it’s time for me to move back into my business role. When I took on all of these roles, as fun as they were, they just overloaded me.

Having off the past few days has given me a much needed reprieve from the stress. I love to write so much and it began to feel like a chore rather than something I love. When my year is up I decided a while ago that this will be a weekly pursuit, so that way it can be fun again. I get to chose where I prioritize my time.

So where do you prioritize your time? Do you take on more than you should? When we unfocus our energy and send it scattered in all different directions we become stretched thin. Our priorities are the energy we send out and what happens when you are sending it out everywhere. We get burnt out, overwhelmed, drained, etc. That is why taking time off for yourself is so important, and why I took off the past few days from writing. Knowing how you are feeling is important, it allows your to gauge how you are doing and what you are able to take on.

Today was a 8.
