A little over half way there

So according to this calculator I am a little over half way to my goal. Sept 15 2020 was the half way mark for this 1 year goal! I have missed days occasionally, and allowed myself to miss a week for vacation but here I am at 195 entries in the books. Wow. What is to say I can’t write a book after all this right?!

It’s so funny how everything has changed so much. Look back at the beginning of this year to now. How much has changed for you? Not just in the external world but the internal one as well. Is there a progress that you can see? Are you aware of it? Now I want you to set some goals. Let’s do a 6 month goal! Pick one thing that you want to practice at everyday for the next 6 months. It can be learning to draw a hand, or playing an instrument. Anything your heart wants to do. Now make sure to set 30 minutes a day for this thing. That is about the same amount of time I usually take to write a blog entry.

Why 30 minutes? Because it’s like a nap, it’s not enough time to make you get board but it’s not to much time to make you hate it and get irritated at what you are doing. When you practice at something for 30 minutes a day it stimulates you just the right amount of time to keep at it, like when you are just having a crappy day and you are like I don’t want to do it. Look at it like this, it’s only 30 minutes, that’s an episode of tv where I am sitting doing nothing. If you can spend 30 minutes watching tv then you can spend 30 minutes a day doing something to better you.

What I have learned over these past 6 months is that habit forming is hard but if you stick with it, become consistent then it becomes second nature. That life is full of things you don’t expect, and that no matter where you are you can always start over. I’ve learned a bunch more things, if you want to see all of it then read all the entries. But progress is one day at a time, it’s not overnight success. It’s dedication and consistency and follow through, and that is what I have been practicing this entire time. This blog was made as a promise to myself that I am worth following through on it. I wanted to inspire others, help others, and create a place that expands your awareness, and I believe that as I practice everyday I become more refined in it. Not every post is pretty or has been good but it doesn’t matter, all that matters is the follow through and actively prioritizing this blog. Now for you, what is it you prioritize? Take a look and see what is and isn’t working for you. Then make a list and determine what you want to do with it. Make that your 6 month goal! Get after it and dare to habit!

Today was a 9.
