30 things to do outside when the weathers getting nice!

What a gorgeous day it was today! The sun shining bright and the warm weather brought out all the people to celebrate in the Spring time fun. These are the kind of days I live for, the perfect weather days. When it comes to a great weather day what are your natural go too’s? Do you love to be outside? Are you a hiker, or perhaps chilling outside at a cafe with friends chatting? What are some of your favorite things to do when the weather starts getting nice?

Now that the weather is beginning to warm up everyone is going to be outside more. It’s that time of the year for get togethers, bike rides, hiking, and more. During this time with corona I have to remind you even with a vaccine to always be safe and careful. That being said though don’t let it hold you back from getting some fresh air and getting outside. Now if you aren’t really an outdoors person or you are not sure what to do here is a list of things that you can do for fun!

1. Find a local hike for yourself.

There is a great app called all trails. It helps you to figure out the difficulty, if pets are allowed, if safe for kids, if you want to fish and more.

2. Go to a local park and throw a frisbee, fly a kite, play basketball, or go for a jog.

Do an activity on beautiful days like this. Bring a friend to make it even better.

3. Find a cafe with outdoor seating and grab a drink and read outside.

If you want people bring a group of friends and enjoy some good company and beverages!

4. Go for a bike ride.

5. Go for a drive and explore somewhere new.

Whether it be an hour drive or more go and explore some local towns you never have before.

6. Look for outdoor festivals, pop up shops, music.

As the nice weather approaches start looking for festivals like a cupcake festival or a garlic festival near you.

7. Have a picnic by yourself and read a book.

8. Take your pet for a walk, don’t have a pet go for a walk.

9. Clean your car out while listening to a podcast, music or audiobook.

10. Pick up golfing or softball or baseball and go to a batting cage or drive range

11. Go to a local ice cream shop. (Some shops have dairy free options ;)

12. Do some spring cleaning.

Open your windows and clean the house out. Make it fun!

13. Do some photography.

Grab your phone or camera and just start taking pictures.

14. If in season go berry picking, sunflower picking, apple picking, or some kind of picking.

15. Find some garage sales and make a day of it.

16. Go geocaching.

It’s an outdoor scavenger hunt where you find a container that contains a log and potential loot for you to trade with. Add this to your hiking lists.

17. Go fishing. (If it’s the season and you have a license. Super easy to get.)

18. Learn about local birds, plant life or animals and try to find them.

You can get books or find a local to get a tour from. Around me there is a man who does mushroom tours!

19. Go bar hopping with friends.

Be safe and responsible with this. No drunk driving so leave the keys at home and uber or take a train!

20. Visit a vineyard.

21. Find a farm of sorts and see if they offer tours.

There is a llama farm near me that does this.

22. Go car shopping.

Test driving cars can be fun. If you are looking at getting a new car and your unsure or you know go test out a few.

23. Plant a garden.

Either starting from seedlings or buying some local flowers, veggies or plants and making yourself a garden.

24. Go to an amusement park.

25. Find a sculpture park or an art gallery and check it out.

The outdoor sculpture parks are a great way to see art and be outside.

26. Volunteer somewhere.

Whether you are helping feed the homeless, helping animals or cleaning up the roads volunteering is a great way to give back, feel good, and get outside!

27. Do the chores you have been putting off.

You have a bunch of different places to go to make it a day by driving around. At least you are outside and in the sun. Plus if you have a sunroof!!

28. Find a place to do sidewalk chalk on.

Getting creative outside is a great way to help the brain boost those happy juices!

29. Join a meetup that you wouldn’t have before.

Find a group you are interested in but have been putting off or have been nervous about joining. Put yourself out there and see if it’s the right fit. You never know until you do!!!

30. Cook outdoors!

Barbecue! Yes please!! Sunshine and that wonderful smell of flame broiled burgers.. mmmm

This is what I could come up with for you for now, but the options are unlimited. Next time you are bored or don’t know what to do try doing 1 or a few of these on this list. Being outside is a great way to fight depression and anxiety and get you motivated. When we are stuck indoors all the time we tend to get cabin fever and feel restricted in our daily lives. Getting out into that big blue room (outside) is when we come alive again and start getting inspired. You never know doing something out there may help you realize that you need to change things you didn’t even see. So go on, get outside! It’s going to be a blast!!

Today was a 10.
