Hard work
Today I spent most of my day cleaning and beginning painting my new wellness studio! I am beyond excited to start this journey finally. It’s really happening and the amount of work done today was exhausting but so rewarding. When you put in the effort that is when you feel the most joy because you put the work in. Especially when it’s something for yourself.
Imagine you took all that energy towards something you wanted to do in your life?Imagine that you put in the work to achieve your dreams? Imagine that you spent each day working on one thing that would help you achieve that dream? Just imagine. Now after all that day dreaming I want you to now put one foot in front of the other and march forward. No not march, Charge forward and go after that dream harder than you ever have in your life before. I want it to be like you are in a race against all these versions of yourself. Some of them slow, some of them fast, some of them sitting or crawling, or drooling. Imagine all the different aspects you can of you. Now I want you to rush past every single one. Even the one that is faster than you are, the one that you believe is more intelligent, and instead break out, fly past them. Show yourself that even those “grand” images of you have nothing on what really lies within.
We tend to shy away from working on things for ourselves out of fear. Fear of not knowing how to do things, not knowing where to start, where to go, being judged, failing, being rejected, being bad at it. The list goes on and on and on. But remember what I say, “It doesn’t have to be pretty, you just have to do it!!!” This has been my motto since launching this Dare to Habit blog. Not all my posts are nice, even now they may not be what you read in a “professional” style blog, it may not have the editing or the glamour but what it is, is authentically me. You can dish out intelligence anyway of the week but can you give someone your raw, unedited amazing self? Do you have the courage to be yourself and put the work into creating what you have to offer this world?
What I am challenging you to do right now is to live up to yourself. Everyday work on something whether that be handling the pain of your past, setting daily habits, breaking habits, or just doing chores live up to it. Don’t put it off for another day, don’t sit on the couch and get all moopy or sad. Get up and take action, stop using all these distractions like tv, your phone, your family, your pets, your job, your this, your that as an excuse for why you can’t do something. You are the most important thing in your life and that is how you should live it. I am not saying that those other things aren’t super important, I am saying don’t use those reasons for why you can’t do something. If you want it bad enough you will achieve it. If you have the drive and desire then you find the time, you take action, you get up and do it. Nothing is out of your reach, that’s just your mindset telling you it is.
Now many of you may be offended about the family thing, or the pet thing but I see those excuses a lot from people. Yes I get it’s hard having a family, no I don’t have kids, but I would say that if you believe that just because I don’t have kids I am free to pursue my own dreams and goals then I would say isn’t that a bit hypocritical? It would just seem that it comes off saying that woman can’t be a mom and be driven. Do you see what I’m getting at? You chose your own level of involvement, you chose where to focus your time and energy even with kids. Yes it may be harder and you may have less time, I’m not saying it’s going to be easy. Hard work never is. They say work smarter not harder, and to an extent I like to reject that notion. You want to put the effort in until you are able to do it so fluently that you can do it smarter. (I am sorry if you are offended, that is not my intent. I just want you to see how truly powerful you are and that you are capable of anything.)
So what are you going to do tomorrow? Are you going to find 10 minutes to work on something for yourself? Maybe you look up how to make an Etsy store, maybe find a consignment shop or you research website builder. That’s all it takes, 10 minutes to spare yourself. Everyday focusing on something for yourself. Put the work in for yourself regardless of what is going on and you will be so happy you did. I hope you decide to chose yourself and to put that work in my friend. Invest in yourself and you won’t be disappointed!!
Today was a 10. All the work! I’m doing it!
