5 for 75

Today I found myself in a funk. Ever since I found out I had to move yesterday I have been rushing to find a new spot. I have felt overwhelmed and a lot of self doubt. The emotions have been kicking my butt for the past week and I’ve developed insomnia from it. Tonight I am going to pop some melatonin just to make sure I am good to go but I digress. So what is this 5 for 75? I recently heard about this from the passing of a friend of mine and hearing about how she utilized this in her life got me thinking about a time in my life where I implemented something similar. Now from what I read about it it’s also a fitness challenge called 75 hard. This one you can totally do if you would like but the one I am doing is not a fitness challenge per say. (If you are interested in the 75 Hard challenge feel free to look that one up. Whatever you chose to do I will support it.)

About 2 years ago I was doing a daily journal. This journal consisted of me writing down 3 things everyday what I was grateful for, along with goals for the day, what was on my mind, and things I could do right now to move forward. Let me tell you, when I applied that to me running 2 miles everyday, doing yoga, I became so fit and outgoing. All those endorphins baby!! Now what the 5 for 75 is for 75 days you will commit yourself to practicing 5 habits everyday! So make them something realistic, and something you actually want. Don’t be like I want to lose 10 lbs, be like I want to walk a mile everyday. Let’s focus on what you want to do and not the “end goal” of it.

So what would some of my 5 habits that I want to practice be? Well the first is wake up and write down 3 things I am grateful for everyday! I am creating a state of gratitude that will keep the motivation and abundance flowing all day long. Not only write these things but whenever the anxiety, fear, self doubt creep up use those things as my anchor to navigate past it. Another habit I want to really focus on is drinking my water! Especially my glass of lemon water in the morning that was a big staple in my life. The next thing would be to read at least 5 pages a day, doesn’t matter what it is, just read. Number 4 would be to run everyday, even if it is just 5 min. Gotta build a tolerance again, especially with my right hip the way it is. And finally I would like to meditate. I have never meditated on purpose, but I want to start that as a habit for me. It may be 1 min starting out but its a start!

There we have it

  1. Practice gratitude, write 3 things down everyday.

  2. Drink my lemon water in morning then 1 gallon a day.

  3. Read at least 5 pages. Can always read more! But minimum.

  4. Run at least for 5 min a day. Build yourself up to more! (Hopefully get back to my 2+ miles a day)

  5. Meditate. Start for a min then sky’s the limit!

What are some things you want to start doing in your day? Are you ready to commit to the process of building these habits for yourself?

The start date is September 1 until November 14th. The hope is that even after the end date this is part of you now. There is no going back. I mean look at what I have accomplished here with this blog. I may have missed a day here and there but I have written daily since March 16th! 157 entries since then. Go me!!! But it started as me rewriting my daily life, making this a priority even if it’s not good. Even if I don’t want to do it. I still get up and find the will to push past it. So that is what this is. If you are in please contact me, either here or on my instagram page. I would love for you to be a part of this journey. Also having an accountability buddy can be super helpful, especially on days where you aren’t feeling it yourself. I’ll whip out my sassiest motherfucking speech on you! You best believe!!

Today was a 7. Insomnia got to me but tonight I kick it’s buTTTTTT!!!
